The market print
A dated weekly read on the quant hiring book
Every week the research desk publishes what the index saw: roles opened and closed, the market absorbing the hiring, the discipline leading it and the share of adverts stating pay. Each edition keeps its own permanent page, so a figure you cite today still reads the same next year.

What moved in the quant market this week?
New York holds the largest tracked quant book. Within tracked coverage the index holds 395 live quant records, of which 48 (12%) carry a salary figure stated by the employer. The rest state no figure; where the model covers that role and market a band is shown and always labelled as modelled, and where it does not, no figure is shown at all. New York holds the largest tracked book at 112 live records. Quant Researcher holds the largest share by discipline at 160 live records. Over the last seven days the index first observed 13 quant records and recorded 18 as closed. A first observation can mean a newly advertised role or a source the index has only just begun watching, and a closed record means the index no longer observes that advert as live, which is not evidence of a withdrawal or a hire. These are observations of tracked adverts within tracked coverage. They are not a measure of the whole market, candidate availability, completed hires or uninterrupted daily collection.

Methodology
Figures are expressed as annual total compensation (base salary plus expected performance bonus) in the reference market's local currency, converted from a US dollar base. They describe typical market ranges rather than any individual offer, and exclude sign-on payments, deferred equity and carried interest. Portfolio-manager figures reflect formulaic profit-share arrangements and are therefore far more dispersed than any other role.
KnowQuantIndex 2026.1 · Updated September 2026
Modelled bands describe the market, not an individual offer. Where an employer states pay, the stated figure is used and labelled as such.

Behind the print
Every figure here is drawn from the live index
The print is generated from the index at the moment of publication, then frozen, so a figure you cite stays exactly as it was published.
